The Quiet Place

It's much sought after, isn't it? I know for me it is. And sometimes hard to find. Raising 3 boys doesn't allow for much quiet. I have to be purposeful about finding that quiet place, and how it calms me when I do. I remember one particular finding of that place this summer as we traveled. I found it walking the quiet country road that winds past the home of my in-laws. God's whisper made it's way to me through the breeze in the tall trees surrounding their home and I felt Him so close to me. Maybe one of these days the quiet place will be easier to find - right now, I'll enjoy it when I can.

Quiet time -- What's that??
No, really I know what you mean. Sometimes I just tell Jonathan that I need some time alone, and he watches the babies for awhile. Even if its a needed trip to the PO or Walmart! I always feel better when I get back!

I've never been to their house but it looks like my type of place to spend some quiet time! Beautiful!

I love my early morning quiet times with Jesus too! Those times when it's just Jesus and I, help renew me each day, without them, I'd NEVER survive the mission field, or life for that matter. =) Yes, your in-laws place and back yard would be a nice place to walk and have a "Little Talk with Jesus."

Melodie,
I want you to know that you are doing VERY well with your Spanish. I'm proud of you. When I heard that you weren't going to take official classes in TX, I was a little worried, for I soooo wanted you to be able to communicate with your new church people in Mexico. As you know, we wives are a BIG part of our husband's ministry; talking, crying, and praying with our ladies, for many times they NEED another lady to talk to. So, all of that to say, that I'm very happy with all you know, God has helped you learn a lot of Spanish! I'm at the point where I feel I'm not learning much, and maybe forgetting some of the rules I did learn, but I do know that I know TONS more Spanish now, than I did a year ago, Thank the Lord. I need to find the time, to drag out the books and restudy a little. =)
We love y'all and appreciate what y'all are doing there in Mexico.
Your "sister",
Heather in Colombia =)

I love it! Looks like a place I would want to relax at! Yes, I sure can sympathized with the need for quiet time with Jesus... in a few short months, I will have three children that are all under four years of age! I feel tired just thinking about it!

Yes, that is a lovely place to have peace and quiet..... when my boys aren't around. :) I found that out in February when I went to visit by myself. Of course, it would have been nicer had it been warmer.

I loved your comments about quiet time....Every Mom needs them...just to keep us refreshed. I think this is a common bond that we all can relate to....Danny is very supportive of me...he just told me to go "relax"...He would put the kids to bed. Life is busy though and sometimes we just have to "go there" in our minds and imagine....(smile)

Sankey Family,
I just wanted to let you know that since I see your blog regularly, I also remember to pray for you regularly and for the work that you are doing there. So, I guess the blog is for more than just communicating! Just wanted to share this with you.
God Bless,
Jonathan Walden
