We had a special service at church (Saltillo) tonight, remembering "Las Siete Palabras de Cristo". Each of Christ's last words on the Cross was explained and songs were sung commemorating His sacrifice for us.
Steve, Bro. Jose, Pastor Dolores, Bro. Raul and Marc presented different words of Christ and spoke a few minutes on their significance. It was a very meaningful time - I've never been to a service specifically dedicated to this theme before.
We also celebrated the Lord's Supper on Sunday night - another meaningful time together as brothers and sisters in the Lord. I love the fact that Christ's sacrifice and the plan of salvation is for everyone; it crosses international borders, it knows no cultural limitations - He died and rose again for us all! Gracias, Cristo....

Sounds like a really neat service!I think that we all should reflect deeply on these thoughts at this very special time of the year...
Great! I understand that our churches in Ethiopia and Eritrea do the "seven words" thing every year. One year Faith Hemmeter arrived at the service, and the pastor informed her that she was to speak on one of those "words." Whew! I'd have hoped for a little prep time!
Anyway, I'm sure it was very meaningful for you. Is it something new there, or a practice of Bible Methodist churches?
Very interesting!!
