So needless to say, this is catch up time. We're working 6 days a week, extra pages each day..... The teacher's not very popular right now, but hey - it's gotta be done. They'll thank me this summer.
On a side note....the forecasted temp for tomorrow here in Saltillo is 81 - yay!

They definitely don't look all that enthused, but I'm sure they'll be glad for a summer vacation! Hey, I had a couple questions. I see that you use ACE, we did too, most of my school years. I am using Abeka with Brianna for Kindergarten this year and although its going fairly well, I'm thinking about switching over to ACE next year. Lets face it, I am NOT a teacher and I think that ACE might be a little easier on both of us. Do you think ACE is about the same as Abeka or behind them? I requested a sample pace of 1st grade from them and it's the same as what were doing right now, I don't want her to fall behind. I just wondered what your thoughts on this were, thanks in advance!
I've enjoyed reading your blog! May God Bless you as you serve there. In Christ, Rachael
They look so excited! Where is that enthusiastic teacher's picture!!
I love that Jordan is carrying on the Sankey left-handedness!
Tell the boys to work hard. For the last three years I was homeschooled I was associated with a school in Illinois. They kept my records and issued my diploma when I graduated. However,I couldn't goof off and for a couple years I was working into the summer because I did goof off. :( Trust me it wasn't any fun.
I was homeschooled from fourth -twelveth grade and my mom tried different curriculums. The school in Illinois used ACE,and for me ACE was better, esp. with math, which I wasn't very good at and as a result hated. To me ACE seemed to explain things better.Of course I'd highly recommend ACE to anyone.Though,if they notice their child does really well and likes a particular subject(s),I'd recommend getting other books in addition to help complement the ACE curriculum. That's the nice thing about homeschool. You can mix curriculums or add to them. However, the key is knowing each child is different and finding the right curriculum for that child.
Your kids look as excited as my kids do when I have them work ahead. I know the feeling all to well of being on the road doing deputation, etc. Hang in there, they will thank you later on.
