Connection

To connect with these people has to be one of our greatest joys as missionaries. Some of them are a little reticent until we show the desire to converse and connect in their language - their response is always warm, always. They are very patient and seem to enjoy helping us - supplying words, phrases, going far beyond the 2nd mile to understand and assist us.

Here are Marc and Logan - just connecting.....

Dearest Melodie, those are neat pics! As y'all and us are finding out, it's just "TIME spent with them" that means a lot to the people of this culture. (Which is not always easy to do...to sit around chatting, when you have 1,000 things to do! =) But, God is helping us to learn to be flexible, and to just sit and sip "Tinto", "Agua de panela", or "cafe con leche" with our dear Colombian people and it seems that we get more ministry done that way than we do in church. And that's why y'all are there, and we are here, to Touch lives for Jesus!

Love and pray for y'all,
Heather in Colombia =)

I really enjoy your blog, I'll have to admit coming across it a while ago, just have never left a comment yet! I love reading about things happening on the mission field, I enjoy still having that connection since I grew up on one!

I loved all these candid photos. Just ask Shane, he thinks candid shots are the best.
Thanks so much for the e-card. It brought tears to my eyes! We seem to be doing that to each other. :) You're the best!
