Still Here

Well, Logan didn't get to come home from the hospital today - he is more than sad about it. His CT scan done this afternoon showed that while the cellulitis around his eye had improved, the abscess under his eye had not - even with 6 days of strong antibiotics.

We're not exactly sure what the next step is....whether the opthamologist will do a surgical procedure to drain the abscess, whether an ENT will get involved, etc. Logan's group of hospital pediatricians do not want to release him until this is solved, but since it's getting a little complicated, more time on IV antibiotics is the least that we'll have to look forward to - and more than likely a procedure of some kind in the next couple days.

Just to be very honest, we're discouraged....but we do know that God is in control and He is watching over Logan very carefully. Marc and I are doing our best as his parents: taking turns overnight in the hospital, trying to keep him entertained, being there with him as new IVs are inserted when old ones blow the veins.....but we as parents can only do so much and believe me, we feel our limitations very keenly tonight.

But God is Logan's Heavenly Father - He is watching intently and has Logan in His hands. We trust Him that He knows best - we just are asking Him to give us strength to come through this time, trusting more in Him and seeing that He knew best all the time.

Thank you again for your love and prayers for Logan - it is so encouraging to us to know you're praying.
p.s. these Lightning McQueen "jammies" really cheered him up - he LOVES anything and everything "Cars"related....

We love you all. This new development has been a big disappointment, but we remain trusting in Him.

Love You Guys! Praying for you this morning! I am sure that these are deep waters for you....! As you said Melodie.... The Heavenly Father loves Logan (more than all the rest of us put together!) He's making a "soldier" out of him... Teaching Him... and us! I'm glad we know that we can TRUST Him!

I am so very sorry that Logan has to go through all of this. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I wish so bad that I could be there with you. Hopefully, things will change for the better soon. Please tell Logan that we are praying for him and are proud of him for being so brave!! Love you so much!

Braxton loved Logan's pj's. He is also a complete nut over "Cars" stuff!

Hey, guys! Your post tore at my heart....I so wish we could make theses "flood waters" recede much more quickly! We can sympathize with your frustration and continue to pray for all of you. Keep holding tight, He knows how to take care of all the little details.

Love,
Collette

There is a purpose for all of this. Tribulation produces patience. Patience is a great virtue to have on the mission field. You will all be the better because of this. Keep encouraged. You are not alone. WE are praying for you.

Marc and Melodie,
I too got tears in my eyes reading about poor Logan and all he is still suffering!! Bless his heart I know he's DYING TO LEAVE THE HOSPITAL and so are his parents!!

We are PRAYING HARD that God, the GREAT PHYSICIAN will intervene and heal Logan completely...SOON! (and of course, help the doctors as they work with him too!)

So sorry for all y'all have faced.

We love y'all,
Heather

Even as we pray for God to remove the infection, we also realize that God has a purpose in allowing this to happen. What is that purpose? We don't know, but, as John Parker said, God can use this to make a soldier out of Logan -- and out of his parents and siblings, too!

"Trust the Lord." "Look at the big picture." Easier said (by those of us who aren't in it) than done (by you who are in the midst of it). May the Lord sustain, encourage, and uplift you in the midst of this difficult trial.

P.S. -- Logan's Grandma Sankey is in the hospital, too, so he has someone who can empathize!
