My Sunday School Class

I'm so excited - I have my own Sunday School class! Yes, I'm a little ashamed to say that my first class responsibility is taking place on the mission field (and in another language, no less!) but due to the wonderful and capable team of Sunday School teachers we had in Franklin, it was never necessary for me to teach a weekly class.

Collette Burch (HIM missionary, my friend and mentor) has decided to divide up her large S.S. class/Children's Church to be able to better focus on the needs of each group and teach to their separate levels. I have been given the privilege of working with the smaller children, teaching with activities and stories more on their level. Collette is now free to work with the older ones in more advanced lessons, question and answer sessions, etc.

(We attend and assist in the HIM church here in Salamanca when we are not visiting and ministering in our Bible Methodist Churches.)

Tomorrow will be my third Sunday "on the job" and I'm already loving it. It is giving me a wonderful opportunity to practice and improve my Spanish, and the little ones don't seem to mind my mistakes and blunders.

Thanks to Collette, I have a wonderful online resource center to draw materials and ideas from. However, I am open to any and all suggestions. If you know of Spanish preschool/kindergarten level Sunday School resource sites or books, I'd be happy for you to pass along the information.

A prayer request: My husband is gone this weekend, visiting our churches in the Saltillo area: several missions and churches. His schedule is herculean since he's trying to get to as many as he possibly can. Please pray for strength and protection for him as he travels and that God would encourage our Bible Methodist churches and pastors through him.

How exciting to have a SS class, kids are the most fun to learn with! I'm doing CMB at church this time, I'm not starting until the first of 2008 though. So glad to get a glimpse of your fun time with Marci and family! Thinking and praying for you and Marc this weekend:)Love ya, Janella

I just love to get your news and follow your activities this way. It makes me feel so much "closer" to you. I love the pictures. Looks like Anthony survived despite his "taste" issues. Everything just simply looks like fun and laughter:-). Love to you all. Our prayers are with you and Marc, as well. Mom Sankey

It was great catching up on your blog, I've been busy sewing and baking and not blogging much.

That is GREAT that you are now teaching a Sunday school class....may God help you with this endeavor for him. We would be interested in the link that you mentioned as a good resource for Spanish materials, since our Kimberly is teaching a Sunday School class too.

Neat that Logan has a blog, we'll check it out! =)

Great pics of when Anthony and Marci were there...I had to laugh at the pic of you enjoying your "elote" and you saying that Marci was looking for a place to THROW hers away. =D

Thanks for your SWEET comment on my "Swaping Howdies" post, I agree, it's GREAT getting to stay in contact with other missionary wives!

God bless y'all, and have a wonderful week in Jesus.
Love and prayers,
Heather =)

I've never taught a SS class either! I'm sure it's a challenge in a different language. We'll be praying for you all while Marc is away!!
