Our Saturday in Zacatecas

What a day Saturday was! We left Saltillo around 7:30 am heading for the desert state of Zacatecas and the 2 Bible Methodist missions we have there.
Some beautiful mountain scenery along the way.

Around 9:00 we stopped for breakfast. Sis. Sylvia had made breakfast tacos: potato, bean or egg and ham. They were delicious and tasted even better eaten in the open air. :-)

Bro. Dolores leading the service and he and Brennan playing their guitars - this was at the mission in Sabana Grande.

Brennan preached and Marc translated into Spanish. They both did a great job!

Love this picture of Marc, Brennan and the little boys in Sabana Grande.

We (us and the pastor's family) normally take things to give to the people: used clothing and shoes, Bibles, etc. The ladies and kids love the stuff we bring and usually aren't bashful in helping themselves. :-)

2 cute little village girls.

You cannot believe how dry it is out in these villages. We were literally walking through inches of pure dirt in the villages. It hasn't rained in forever - the people are thirsty and in desperate need of water.

The animals desperately trying to quench their thirst in what little bit of water there is.

Pastor Dolores preaching in the second mission we visited: San Antonio. No church building here - just a little shed that the people let us use to have some shade from the hot sun for the service.

The kids were singing choruses here.

Marc, Jordan and I singing "Con Que Pagaremos?" Brennan and Pastor Dolores accompanying us.

The kids take advantage of whatever little bit of shade they can find. No such thing as big shade trees in this dusty village.

So pitiful to see their physical thirst and lack of water, but gratifying to see their spiritual thirst. May they find that thirst satisfied in Jesus; those who drink of the water He gives will never thirst again.
Some of the ladies and children who attended the service in San Antonio.

Eating supper at the same place on the way back. I had taken chicken salad for sandwiches, chips, banana bread and pop. After this photo was taken, Logan ended up falling down a huge pile of rocks and landing in a barbed wire fence. Marc took him to the Red Cross (ER) when we got back to Saltillo. They cleaned him up good, examined him, and to his great relief, said he wouldn't need to be stitched up. We also had a tire changing incident on the side of the road after a tire on Pastor Dolores' truck lost its tread.
What a day...great memories! So thankful to be ministering for God here in Mexico.

I am truly jealous of someone! Brennan!!!!!!!!! He is getting to enjoy my family and I am not! I would love to hear the music that you guys are producing. Record yourself on your camera and post it! These pictures brought tears to my eyes. It really "hit" me that you are a missionary woman. Melodie, you look so happy! I am so thankful that you are where you are! And you know that for me to say that I have come a long ways. lol! For a long time I hated that you were so far away in a different country, but I can so see the satisfaction on you and Marc's faces and it just proves to me that you are where you are supposed to be. Even though I am still not loving it. 8-) I am so proud of you. You are such a blessing to all of your people there and I know they are so thankful to have you. And remember that you are supposed to record the music and post it. I think everyone would be in favor of that. How much more can I go before I run out of space?! lol! I love you very much, sister!!!
